We started to go to Mehndi Village Club or 'Mehndi' in short, when we were looking for cheap option in Janak Puri/Vikas Puri area. There was a pub in JP District center by name of Fuel, which was quite a good option, as they had happy hours till 8 PM and was good for couple of beers.
However once fuel was closed, someone told us about Mehndi, we decided to check it out. It is on a very interior kind of location, away for commercial activity of any kind, in complete residential area. The building from outside gives an impression of some local banquet hall.
The restaurant is pretty average, with nothing great to write about. The booze was reasonably priced and quite affordable for middle class people like us. Compared to booze, food and snacks were on the expensive side. However the main attraction of the place was not its bar, but the games room on top floor.
They have huge hall over there, with various arcade games, pool, snooker, and other table games available. The rates were cheap when compared to other places in Delhi. However the big surprise was a bowling alley at that location. I never imagined that a bowling alley might be there at such a location. Even though I have never seen it crowded, but still families do come to have a good time. We used to occupy the pool tables for hours at a stretch, however they didn't serve booze in the games area, otherwise it would have been a great plus.
Its a place for value for money family outing, but don't expect anything flashy over there. The place has a very middle class feel to it.
