Starring : Ben Kingsley, Téa Leoni, Luke Wilson, Dennis Farina, Philip Baker Hall
Directed by : John Dahl
Produced by : Téa Leoni, Jonathan Dana, Al Corley
You kill Me is a well made film, which can be classified as black comedy. All the actors in the movie have done a fabulous job and all technical aspects seem to be in place.
Ben Kinsley's character Frank, is a Polish Hitman, working with his 'family' in Buffalo. However he is a drunkard and his drinking problems leads to problems with his job, that is killing people. The family decides to send him off to AA (Alcohol Anonymous) in San Fransisco so that he can clean up and get back to the job. There is comes in contact with Tom (Luke Wilson) who becomes a close friend and a sponsor. Also he falls for Laurel (Téa Leoni).
This is the moment that the movie comes into its own, Leoni has done a wonderful job, and shares but fabulous moments with Kingsley. They successfully portray an awkward relationship as they help each other cope with their troubles. The comedy emerges from the situations and doesn't look forced.
Tea Leoni has done a wonderful job and is completely at ease with the role, which might have put many actresses in trouble. Ben Kinsley shows that he is not afraid to experiment and plays the role of a loner, drunkard, a person who kills for money with complete conviction. The other actors in the movie also have delivered what was expected.
The movie is slow paced, dark and as dry as they come. But these are the factors which go in its favor and helps the overall feel of he movie.
My Rating : 7.5/10
